KAPOLEI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii Gas is looking into what caused a tanker filled with 8,500 gallons of liquid propane to overturn on Kalaeloa Boulevard.
Officials said the driver made a left turn onto Kalaeloa Boulevard when the tanker separated from the tractor, then fell over onto its right side.
More than a dozen firefighters responded to the scene around 4:30 a.m. to monitor the air and help remove the tractor.
The company says the driver was a veteran and top driver. He wasn't speeding when the accident happened.
"Once the investigation is complete, we'll determine what corrective measures will need to be taken to ensure this doesn't happen again," said Hawaii Gas vice president Jack Grimmer.
