WAIPAHU, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Authorities have released a surveillance photo of a man accused of groping a teen on a city bus, hoping the public can help locate the suspect.

Authorities said the man in his 30s is wanted for third-degree sexual assault in connection with the incident on July 20 at around 4:30 p.m. They said the 14-year-old girl boarded the bus at the Alapai Transit Center, and while on the bus, the suspect stood behind her and sexually assaulted her.

The girl described the encounter to Hawaii News Now last week, saying he stood very close behind her in the crowded bus and groped her by rubbing her leg and holding her stomach close to him.

When the bus arrived at the Waipahu Transit Center, the girl told the bus driver, who then called police.

Authorities said the suspect exited the bus and was last seen walking towards Times Supermarket.

The man is described as Caucasian, about 6’0” and 180 pounds. He has very short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray suit, gray pants, a tie and black backpack.
