AIEA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are searching for the driver who hit and killed a man while he was doing yard work on Saturday.
Police say the driver was heading mauka bound on Aiea Heights Drive around 3:45 p.m. before veering off the road and slamming into a 42-year-old maintenance man.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died.
He has not been identified but authorities say he's from Honolulu.
"The vehicle did not stop at the scene to render aid and continued to head mauka bound on Aiea Heights Drive. It's described as a 2013 Honda SUV in silver color," Lt. Carlene Lau said.
Police later confirmed that the vehicle involved is a silver 2013 Honda CR-V with license plates RZA 904.
The crash happened just after a bend in the road, which leads investigators to believe that speed as well as inattentive driving could be factors.
