Billy V: Olympic athlete racks up huge cellphone bill, U.S. swim team's Carpool Karaoke, Kimie at Blue Note, Billy in Japan

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The Pokemon craze has hit one Olympic athlete really hard - in his wallet. Japanese Olympic athlete Kohei Uchimura blames Pokémon Go for a 5-thousand dollar bill in roaming charges. The artistic gymnast,  who won gold at the 2012 Games in London and is the reigning world champion, said he only downloaded the game after arriving in Sao Paulo to train for Rio. Trouble is he did not pre-arrange a flat rate for data roaming. The story has a happy ending, though.  Uchimura called his carrier to explain and was let off with a flat daily charge of around $30.

The carpool karaoke craze hit the U-S Olympic swimming team. You may have recognized Michael Phelps in the first clip. The men and women of the swim team hit the road in Atlanta before they left. They sang some of their favorite tunes including Flo-Rida's "Welcome to My House, "I Would Walk 500 miles" by Proclaimers,  Miley Cyrus's "Party in the USA" and Zac Brown Band's "Chicken Fried."

Kimie Miner is at the Blue Note this weekend .The singer song-writer is at Blue Note Hawaii performing tonight through Sunday. Two shows each night at 6:30 and 9 pm.

Back from Japan:  last chance to take a vacation with the family before UH Football and Volleyball Season starts Got off the plane and went straight to a Yomiuri Giants game, got to see hanai daughters in Nagoya, Saw Tokyo Disneyland from just outside the gate without going in and ate lots of Japanese food.
