HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The sixth annual Hawaii Career Expo attracted several thousand people to the Blaisdell Center on Wednesday where they explored a variety of career opportunities.
"Whether people are looking to land a job, change jobs or are interested in a new career direction, job seekers will be presented with a tremendous amount of opportunities to discover and find the career they want at the Hawaii Career Expo 2016," said Dennis Francis, Honolulu Star-Advertiser president and publisher.
With over a thousand positions available, the employers on hand were looking for potential candidates eager to work.
Job seekers were able to interact with representatives from 170 companies and learn about job opportunities and their requirements
"I can find out firsthand from the company itself what qualifications... and if they're looking for people that have experience or no experience. And kind of just straight up figure out if I'm able to do this," said Lanoa O Pono Keahinuunau.
The one-day event also provided career coaching, tips on resume and cover letter writing, interview techniques and career assessments directly from the experts.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser, First Hawaiian Bank and Altres Staffing were among the companies looking to hire.
