HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Rainbow Warrior football fans rejoice, the start of preseason camp is just hours away. It's no secret, the University of Hawaii football team has got a daunting early season schedule ahead of them and a coaching staff that's undergone a major overhaul. Which means there's plenty of work to be done before the season begins. But, head coach, Nick Rolovich, is all to ready too take on that challenge.
"I love the grind. It does get hard on the family. But, I think when this time of year comes you know you're going to be working long. You know you're going to be playing games and getting that emotion out of there and then getting ready for the next one," said Rolovich. "It's just the greatest time of year I think, I'm ready to do it."
There are a number of questions that Rolovich says he'd like to answer early in camp. The most pressing of them? Who will start under center?
"You know we better answer the quarterback position, that's one," said Rolovich. "Then, we want to see which one or how many of these newcomers can make a contribution to this football team this year, and how quickly that will happen. It'll be fun to get the whole 105. It's going to go very fast. Training camp is not what it used to be. There's not a ton of double days. There's not a ton of practices before you get to your first game. So, we need to be efficient."
