Teens rewarded in summer reading program

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaii State Public Library in partnership with the Hawaii Pizza Hut Teen Summer Reading Program recognized three Oahu students for their commitment to learning.

On Saturday Darren Zhou, Diana Castaneda and Zachary Nishida were selected from a large group of finalists from 23 Oahu branch public libraries who participated in the six-week Teen Summer Reading Program.

Among the prizes were a Samsung Chromebook computer, Acer tablet and 32 inch Sharp TV.

The finale was held at Pearlridge Center-Downtown center court and emceed by local entertainer Lina Girl.
