Fans to gather for release of newest Harry Potter book

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Harry Potter fans will gather at bookstores nationwide Saturday for the midnight release of the newest Harry Potter book.

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is the printed script of a West End stage play written by playwrights Jack Thorne and John Tiffany with the collaboration of J. K. Rowling, author of the wildly popular Potter series.

The book – a rehearsal script, not the play in novel form – is already topping bestseller lists on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

In Hawaii, midnight release parties are planned at Barnes and Noble Booksellers and Walmart stores. Click here to find the location nearest you.

The script is set 19 years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and depicts Harry Potter as an overworked Ministry of Magic employee, a husband and a father of three children. Potter's youngest son, Albus, is shown struggling with his family's legacy.

The book is being released on Harry Potter's birthday.
