WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Police have charged a 61-year-old man in connection with a fatal stabbing in Waikiki on Thursday.

Karl L. Forester, of no local address, was charged Friday with second-degree murder. His bail was set at $250,000.

Police said the stabbing happened about 11:45 a.m. at 3908 Paki Ave, near the old archery range at Kapiolani Park.

The victim, 55, was stabbed once and was unresponsive at the scene. Officers did CPR on the victim, and he was taken in critical condition to a hospital, where he later died.

Police said the suspect returned to the scene after the stabbing, and was subsequently arrested. Police recovered a knife from the suspect.

The stabbing apparently happened following an argument. The relationship between the suspect and victim was unclear.
