HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii's high cost of living means we pay more for housing, for food and … for coffee.
A new analysis shows there's nowhere else in the nation where you'll pay more for a cup of java.
The survey used cost indices to price an 11.5-ounce can of Maxwell House, Hills Brothers or Folgers in cities nationwide. (Hawaii brands of coffee weren't included.)
Honolulu topped the ranking of 50 cities nationally, with an average cost of $7.56 for coffee.
San Francisco and Kodiak, Alaska, where coffee came in at $5.99, rounded out the top three.
The survey, from the Graphiq network, found coffee was cheapest in Baltimore ($4.85) and Cleveland ($4.87).
