HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Chief Executive Officer and President of the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce appeared on Sunrise. Sherry Menor-McNamara said that the chamber does not endorse a particular candidate but takes a stance on certain issues.
On rail, she said that they understand the financial concerns over the multi-billion dollar project, but the chamber believes that it would improve the economy of Honolulu county and the state. The Chamber recommends supporting any candidate who is committed to completing the project.
On homelessness, Menor-McNamara said that the Chamber agrees with a Hawaii News Now/ Star Advertiser poll that shows that the situation is improving, but that there is more that needs to be done. The issue is far from resolved and it's not just a business issue, but one that the community is facing.
