WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Crews quickly put out a fire at the Pacific Beach Hotel in Waikiki on Friday morning, the Honolulu Fire Department said.

About 30 firefighters responded to the two-alarm fire around 6:05 a.m., where they arrived to find smoke coming out of the hotel’s kitchen on the fifth floor.

Guests of the hotel were forced to evacuate, but after the fire was quickly extinguished, they were allowed to return.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but personnel determined that the source of the smoke was a burnt out electrical motor of the kitchen’s ventilation system.

Damage estimates have yet to be determined.
