Woman rescued after fall from H-3 Fwy.

KANEOHE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A woman is recovering after falling approximately 100 feet from the H-3 Freeway in Kaneohe on Thursday evening, according to the Honolulu Fire Department.

Responding HFD crews arrived at the scene at 5:50 p.m. to find a single vehicle collision had occurred on the right-hand shoulder of the Kaneohe-bound lane of the freeway.

Upon further investigation, crews were able to locate and contact the woman. Rescue personnel were able to hike up to the woman's location by 6:12 p.m.

The woman was alert and able to report that she fell from the highway around 3:30 p.m.

She was then hoisted back up to the freeway and transferred to EMS for further treatment.

It is unclear how the woman went over the railing, and her condition is currently unknown.
