Suspect arrested in Makakilo attempted murder case

MAKAKILO, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A suspect accused of intentionally hitting another man with his vehicle in Makakilo early Tuesday was arrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder, Honolulu police said.

Albert Reimers, 29, turned himself in to the main Honolulu Police Department station at around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities had been searching for a suspect after the incident happened around 1 a.m. in the parking lot of Palehua Terrace. Detectives said the suspect deliberately used his car as a weapon, injuring the victim's abdomen and legs.

The 28-year-old victim was taken to an area in serious but stable condition, according to Emergency Medical Services. It's not known what his latest condition is.
