HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - James Montgomery, 68, of Kahaluu was arrested Monday night for alleged abuse of a family member.
The arrest comes hours after Montgomery appeared in district court for animal cruelty charges.
Montgomery was released from police custody after posting a thousand dollars bail and is expected in family court later this month.
The Hawaiian Humane Society raided Montgomery's home in May after a dog was found dead and another clinging to life inside a trash can outside of his home.
Thirty more dogs were found inside his home without food, water or proper ventilation.
This is the second time in 10 years that Montgomery has been accused of running a puppy mill from his Kahaluu home.
