HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - James Montgomery pleaded not guilty to animal cruelty charges on Monday.
The 68-year-old's home was raided back in May after his daughter called authorities who reportedly found two dogs in a trash can; one dead and the other barely alive.
30 more dogs were inside the home, reportedly with no food, water or proper ventilation.
Montgomery faced similar charges in 2005 when 64 dogs were taken from his home. Those charges were later dropped.
His trial is scheduled for September 12.
