HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Beautiful tradewind conditions will hold through the weekend.
Tradewinds will continue at steady levels Saturday, lightening up Sunday and Monday. Rainfall will be skimpy with some light windward showers, mainly in the night and morning hours.
There are now two named storms in the East Pacific. Tropical Storm Celia has formed right behind Hurricane Blas. Both are still far away, but we will continue to monitor them closely here at your Severe Weather Station, Hawaii News Now.
Surf is building along south shores this morning and a sizeable east swell is expected tomorrow. The National Weather Service surf forecast for today: 6-9 feet south, 4-7 feet west, 3-5 feet east, 1 foot or less north.
A High Surf Advisory remains in effect for all south-facing shores.
A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for the Pailolo and Alenuihaha channels, along with coastal waters south and west of the Big Island.
