NANAKULI, Oahu (HawaiiNewsNow) - Road work is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 11 in the Nanakuli area.
The road work, which includes resurfacing pavement and reconstructing concrete curbs, is estimated to be finished within a year, and will cover over 40 miles of roadway.
This is part of Mayor Kirk Caldwell's five-year plan to repave 1,500 miles of city roads that are in poor condition. Since the inception of the plan, the city has repaved over 1,100 miles -- ahead of the pace to meet their goal.
Lane closures will be necessary. Motorists are reminded to allow for extra travel time if planning to drive in the area.
