HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Windward and mauka showers this morning, plentiful sunshine and warm temperatures this afternoon. Honolulu high will be 89 degrees. Trade winds will be 10-20 mph.

Hurricane Blas is far to our east with sustained winds of 120 mph. Blas is expected to spin out and fizzle well to our east. It has sent us some wave energy that is expected to pump up east shores to advisory levels this weekend. Later today a south swell will start rolling in and reach advisory size tomorrow.

NWS surf report for today: 2-4 feet east, south, and west, 2 feet or less north.

Small Craft Advisory for Pailolo and Alenuihaha channels, and coastal waters south and west of the Big Island.
