HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - By Erica Barry
Preparations are underway for the annual Independence Day fireworks spectacular at Ala Moana Beach Park.
Crews from J&M Displays have been setting up the show since Wednesday, and they say they'll continue working all the way up to an hour before the show begins.
Now in its 25th year, organizers say they're doing something a little different.
"We have waterfalls that are going to come all the way down to the water. So we'll have a complete curtain of sparks coming from 1,000 feet up in the air all the way down to the water," says Sherry Souza, lead technician at J&M Displays.
"We also have a beautiful finale, but it's not at the finale. So you have to figure out when it is, and that's all I'm saying! You've gotta come out and watch it."
The 18-minute long show starts at 8:30 p.m. on Monday off Magic Island.
