Forecast: Kauai and Oahu could see heavy showers later today

Moderate trade winds today with passing showers this morning. Instability aloft will develop just west of the islands this afternoon and enhance shower activity on Kauai and Oahu. Showers could be heavy and runoff/flooding is possible.

We are starting warm. Many neighborhoods reporting temperatures in the upper 70s. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 80s or low 90s. The Honolulu high is expected to be 88 degrees.

Trade winds are expected to become strong and gusty by the end of the work week and persist through the holiday weekend. It will be very dry beginning late Thursday and continuing through Saturday. A more typical trade wind shower pattern is expected to return for Sunday through early next week.

Box Jelly Fish are expected to invade south shores today through Friday. Check with lifeguards before you or the kids jump in the ocean. Waves are small all around.
