HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 33-year-old man was charged Sunday for various counts in connection with an incident in Kalihi in which a man was pinned under a car.
Brandon Reis was charged with manslaughter, three weapons offenses and one count of first-degree terroristic threatening.
Reis' bail has been set at $1 million.
On Friday, Reis turned himself in to the Pearl City police station following the death of 36-year-old Kyen Knowles, who died after being pinned under a car in Kalihi.
The Medical Examiner's Office concluded Knowles died from suffocation and mechanical asphyxia after his car rolled on top of him, but security footage showed Knowles was also shot at.
Knowles leaves behind three children.
The incident occurred in the neighborhood on Waterhouse Street, at the intersection of Kopke Street and Gulick Avenue.
