Ex-'Bow Wright run ragged by Rangers

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Steven Wright's last start, five days ago against the White Sox, went the same way many of them have for the knuckleballer this season: 9 innings, 6 strike outs, just one run allowed... And no run support from the Red Sox offense.

There was little work out of Wright worth supporting on Saturday.

The one-time Rainbow lasted just 4.2 innings against the Texas Rangers, allowing 8 runs on 7 hits to take his fifth loss of the season.

The effort saw his season ERA rise to 2.18, still ranked near the best amongst starters in the American League.
