WAIPAHU, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Waipahu man accused of setting his sister's bed on fire was charged Saturday for fourth-degree arson.
Mark Rivera, 21, was arrested for second-degree attempted murder on Friday, but his charges have been lowered and his bail is set at $2,000.
Police say a juvenile female woke to a burning sensation to her ankle and saw the suspect enter her room and light her bed on fire.
Rivera was later located in the Waipahu area and arrested.
The victim was taken to a local area hospital and released with minor injuries.
