HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - New this morning: A Los Angeles jury has ruled in favor of Led Zepplin.  The band was accused of plagiarizing part of their most famous song "Stairway to Heaven."  It centered around the opening 10-second guitar riff to "Stairway to Heaven" from a lesser known band named Spirit.  This puts to rest a debate that has been going on for decades.
We played a small sample of both songs
The Los Angeles jury has decided the band did not steal the opening to its classic anthem.  The trust for the late songwriter Randy Wolfe claimed Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and singer Robert Plant stole the riff from Wolfe's 1968 instrumental "Taurus" recorded with the band Spirit.  Page, Plant and bassist John Paul Jones all testified in the case.  There have been several times thru the years where Led Zepplin has been involved in lawsuits with most having been settled out of court.  This is one of the first that has not.
