Third Annual Hawaii Healthcare Heroes is the only patient-nominated awards program in the nation. Nominations are now being accepted for 2016 Hawaii Healthcare Heroes.
Five heroes will be selected from nominations statewide.
The deadline to submit nominations is June 27.
Healthcare Heroes are recognized at a gala dinner in October, have news profile stories about them on Hawaii News Now and receive recognition at the legislature.
Who can nominate?
Anyone who received care in Hawaii within the last 5 years can nominate (or the legal representative in the case of a child elder parent). If the patient is a minor, is deceased, or unable to speak for him/herself, a parent or person with a medical power of attorney may nominate on the patient's behalf.
Who can be nominated?
Physicians, Physician Assistants
Nurses (LPN, RN, APRN)
Medical Equipment Providers
Mental Health/Substance Abuse Counselors
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs)
Also non-clinical healthcare professionals working at a care organization such as hospital or skilled nursing facility. For example:
Food Service Workers
Financial Office Workers
