HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - By Janelle Guerrero
Only a few months after a $1.5 million restoration project at Iolani Palace, the outer walls are covered in graffiti.
Spray paint was discovered on a portion of the wall at the corner of Richards and South Hotel Streets.
The mess was found four weeks ago, but there's still no timetable for when it will be cleaned up. Palace officials also don't know yet how much it will cost to remove the graffiti.
Iolani Palace and its grounds were designated as National Historical Landmarks in 1962. It was also listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1968.
