MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A group from Hawaii is working together to send aloha to the victims of the Orlando nightclub massacre that claimed 49 lives on June 12.
The Maui residents arrived in Florida on Monday to deliver parts of a mile-long lei.
They spent the past three days making the ti leaf lei with the help of many volunteers, plus donated money and materials.
The lei was then split into three pieces to be presented in three different locations on Wednesday.
The largest is 49 feet long, made up of 49 strands twisted together, with 49 shells inscribed with the names of the 49 people who died in the shooting.
