LILIHA, Oahu (HawaiiNewsNow) - A portion of Liliha Street will be closed all weekend for the state Department of Transportation's Liliha Street Rehabilitation project.
The DOT said two southbound lanes will be closed on Liliha Street between North School Street and North King Street beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday through 6 p.m. on Sunday. During the closure, traffic will be redirected to northbound lanes, giving drivers one travel lane in each direction near the closure.
Drivers will not be allowed to make left turns from Liliha Street to North School Street, Vineyard Boulevard and North King Street. Drivers are urged to use Aala Street or Palama Street.
As part of the project, there will be a right lane closure in the northbound direction at the North School Street intersection from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will also be a lane closure in the southbound direction from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 20 through Thursday, June 23 for sidewalk and railing reconstruction.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead.
