HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Congratulations to all of the dancers of the recent Kamehameha Hula Competition at the Blaisdell Arena this past weekend.  We caught up with some of the dancers from Halau Ka Liko Pua O Kalaniakea and Kumu Hula Kapua Dalire-Moe as they were preparing for competition.  These are some of the Japan hula dancers; they would join up with their Hawaii hula sisters and compete together.  This halau would come in 5th in Kahiko but 1st in Auana tied with Keali'ika'apunihonua Ke'ena A'o Hula from Aunty Leimomi Ho.

Hawaiian Musician Henry Kapono sent out a message to his fans yesterday.  " 10 years ago today I released the Wild Hawaiian project. A groundbreaking, controversial and exciting masterpiece. Traditional Hawaiian songs arranged untraditionally. I am proud of it and celebrate it with great pride!!! There is nothing like it!!! It ROCKED!!! Those of you who have experienced it, I thank you!!! "  Henry has released 17 solo albums to date.

Ben and Maila are "Cruising 'Round The Island"; it's their latest hit song out right now.  Jon Yamasato posted this new clip from Hi Sessions. His caption read "Going a little backward today and releasing first song before intro. Enjoy."  You can also see the show Hi Sessions on K5 Television.

Barry Flanagan posted this adorable video of his nephew Titan Amadeus on HAPA's Facebook page.  He calls it their weekly music class.  Barry's caption read "I accidentally set the camera to selfie mode! Which means he could actually see himself on the screen...I look as surprised as he does when I first see us on the screen too! We love his expression when he initially discovers himself and then starts mugging for the camera + playing some awesome Air Guitar!"
