HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A recent suma cum laude graduate of the University of Hawai'i at Manoa with a 3.9 GPA, Allison Nanea Chu was crowned the 72nd Miss Hawaii on June 11th at the Historic Hawaii Theatre. Allison, is no stranger to over achievement. She was Valedictorian in 2010 at Kalani High School and would almost immediately travel to Los Angeles and New York where she spent majority of the past five years as a professional model and actress for Innovative NY, Wilhelmina and Next Direct. With billboards, print campaigns and walking the runways of New York's Fashion Week under her belt, Allison would return to Hawaii to complete her Senior year at UH and focus on the one achievement she grew up dreaming of...becoming Miss Hawaii. Allison joins a select group of women to wear this most coveted of crowns and earn the role of the Official Hostess of the State of Hawaii as recognized by the Hawaii State Legislature. She will have the opportunity on September 11th to try her hand at achieving the Super of Crowns, at Miss America 2016 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
