HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - More than a dozen passengers are safe after the tour boat they were on ran aground Sunday night near the Ala Wai Boat Harbor, the Honolulu Fire Department said.
HFD said the commercial catamaran ran aground as it was trying to navigate the channel after the sun went down.
The boat carried 16 people, including two children, but everyone managed to get off safely.
HFD said it appears the boat is intact and not taking on water. There are also no apparent leaks.
Crews will try and tow it off the reef on Monday.
