Wetter than normal trade wind weather is in the forecast for the first week of summer, which begins at 12:34 p.m. Monday. Windward and mauka showers are likely, especially for Kauai and Oahu, overnight Sunday into Monday morning. Additional bands of showers will be riding in on the breezy trades Wednesday and Thursday. Rainfall totals should still be on the lighter side, as the winds will keep the showers on the move. Trades will remain breezy through much of the coming week.

The winds are strong enough to extend the Small Craft Advisory until 6 p.m. Monday. They also may spoil conditions for a rising southwest swell, but winds will likely be a little lighter in the morning. The trades will also keep surf choppy and rough for east shores.
