Honolulu police have charged a 17-year-old male who allegedly rammed a stolen vehicle he was driving into an HPD subsidized car Friday morning.

The teenager was charged with first-degree criminal property damage, first-degree burglary, unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and accidents involving damage to a vehicle or property.

Earlier HPD issued a news bulletin that said the teen was charged with first-degree attempted murder, but the department later sent out a correction to the note.

The accident occurred at around 6:30 a.m. Friday at the intersection of South King and Punahou Street.

The teen suspect fled the scene and was eventually arrested near Waiola and Pumehana Streets after hitting a second vehicle, according to the police. There were also three other occupants in the car, all of whom have been arrested.
