San Francisco, Calif. (HawaiiNewsNow) - At least one person died after a small plane went down in Hayward, San Francisco on Sunday.
Hayward fire officials received a report of a small, single-engine plane with a 20-foot wingspan went down onto tracks used by Bay Area Rapid Transit trains, killing the pilot.
The incident occurred at 11:57 a.m. PDT and caused temporary closure of Union City and Fremont stations, but has since been reopened.
Hawaii News Now learned that the plane is registered to a man with a Wailuku address but it is unknown if the victim in the crash is the plane's owner.
No other injuries have been reported as an investigation is underway.
