KAPAA, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Kauai man has been arrested for allegedly mailing various drugs to his home in Kapaa.
Donovan Cameron-Ray, 22, was arrested on May 16 after a U.S. Postal Inspector notified Kauai Police Officers of a box containing 300 XANAX bars, nearly 200 MDMA pills and 2.6 grams of cocaine. The box was addressed to Cameron-Ray at a home on Olohena Road.
Xanax is a prescription medication most often prescribed for anxiety. MDMA is a stimulant and psychedelic.
The package was delivered to the suspect, and it was in his car when he was stopped by police near Kukui Street later that same day.
Officers recovered all the drugs that were identified by the Postal Inspector.
"We are grateful for the multi-agency partnership which led to the seizure of these drugs before they could be distributed in our community," said Police Chief Darryl Perry in a news release.
Cameron-Ray is charged with first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, first-degree promotion of a harmful drug and two counts of drug paraphernalia.
He was booked and released after posting $42,000 bail.
