LIHUE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Authorities arrested 21 fugitives on Kauai this week who were wanted on crimes of violence including homicide and sex offenses.
The arrests were the result of a joint effort with the U.S. Marshals Task Force and the Kauai Police Department over a period of four days.
Marijuana was also found at several locations and turned over to Kauai Police Officers.
"A large number of fugitives wanted for violent crimes and large amounts of narcotics were removed from the streets in a short amount of time making our communities safer," stated a news release from the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
Another 36 outstanding arrest warrants were executed, generating a total of about $400,000 bail.
