HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Showers this morning, mainly windward and mauka. The breezy, easterly trade winds will bring some of that moisture to leeward neighborhoods.

The afternoon should be mostly sunny, particularly on the town side of the Koolau.

Winds today will be 15-25 mph with gusts to 40 mph. High in Honolulu should be around 85 degrees.

Surf remains elevated east, south and west, but only advisory-sized along the east side. Please use caution along the east coast today and stay well back from the waves crashing on the rocky coastline. The National Weather Service surf forecast calls for 5-8 feet east, 4-6 feet south, 3-5 feet west, 1-3 feet north.

High Surf Advisory east shores all islands.

Small Craft Advisory for most coastal and channel waters.
