High surf advisory extended again

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The High Surf Advisory that was issued for east shores earlier this week has been extended again.

The National Weather Service has now posted the advisory until 6 a.m. on Saturday with surf of 5 to 8 feet expected.

Lifeguards said they made 15 rescues on Tuesday alone, and also issued more than 600 warnings.

Expect strong breaking waves, shore break and strong currents that will make swimming difficult and dangerous.
