HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Friends of the Library of Hawai'i (FLH) announces its 69th Annual Book Sale at the McKinley High School cafeteria from June 16 - June 26, 2016, with title sponsor the Hawai'i State Federal Credit Union (HSFCU). One of the oldest book sales in the country and the largest in Hawai'i, this year's sale offers an even greater selection with a larger than normal inventory of cookbooks and thousands of comics. The sale also features a fantastic selection of Hawaiiana with many rare and out-of-print titles and a curated 100 piece art collection. The FLH Annual Booksale was voted Honolulu's "Best Big Used Booksale" by Honolulu Magazine.
Doors open to FLH and HSFCU members for two special preview sales events: FLH members' preview night is Thursday, June 16, and HSFCU members' preview night is Friday, June 17. FLH members may attend both preview sales. If you're not a member, membership applications will be accepted at the door on both preview nights.
The book sale is open to the general public starting on Saturday, June 20.
At the 9-day sale we'll feature over 150,000 books with new merchandise added daily. In addition to books, the book sale highlights a selection of CDs, DVDs, comics, and manga. Back this year is a large, eclectic selection of donated art featuring something for everyone's taste. A catalogue of rare and collectible books will be on display with all items available for purchase.
