HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Honolulu police officer who sparked a massive manhunt last week has been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
Police said 37-year-old Jessie Laconsay was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault and one count of third-degree sexual assault. The 10-year veteran of the force fled last week Tuesday after he was caught sexually assaulting a teen.
He was later caught in Mokuleia and taken to Wahiawa General Hospital for cuts to his wrists. At last check, he was still in the hospital.
His bail has been set at $500,000, police said.
