High Surf Advisory issued for south-facing shores

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for the south-facing shores as swells from the South Pacific start arriving in the islands.

The High Surf Advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. Saturday until 6 p.m. Sunday.

Forecasters expect surf of 5 to 8 feet along south-facing shores.

Beachgoers can expect strong breaking waves, shorebreak and strong currents making swimming dangerous.
