High pressure north of the state will keep the trade winds moderate to breezy today. A few morning showers windward and mauka then mostly sunny skies.

High of 85 in Honolulu.

The trades will ease slightly Saturday through Sunday, then re-strengthen to locally windy levels for much of next week.

Clouds and showers will focus primarily over windward and mauka areas today. Shower coverage and intensity are expected to increase Sunday through Tuesday as an upper level disturbance passes near the islands.

Waves are expected to be 5-7 feet along south shores today. They are forecast to reach 8 feet and trigger a High Surf Advisory by tomorrow, perhaps this evening. West side will get some wrap at 3-5 feet today. East side wind swell will be 3-5 feet. North shore less than 2 feet.

Small Craft Advisory posted for Maalaea Bay and the Pailolo and Alenuihaha channels.
