Looking for a furry companion?
The Hawaiian Humane Society has oodles of kittens in need of new homes.
So on Thursday and Friday, the adoption fee for kittens is $10. The adoption fee is normally $75.
Suzy Tam, communications and event coordinator at the humane society, says that this time of year is considered "kitten season."
"Kitten season: It's when the days gets longer, the weather gets warmer, and we just have an explosion of kittens that come in through our doors," she said. "We literally get over hundreds over the spring and summer months."
Animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are also micro-chipped and vaccinated.
The humane society also offers kitten kits, which include food and "care instructions."
Kittens can be adopted at the humane society and upcoming adoption events, including one on June 25 at Ward Warehouse.
The event, in partnership with Art + Flea, is being called a "cat cafe" and will include food and coffee. The event runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Kittens at the event will be up for adoption at no fee.
