WAHIAWA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Homeless living on a 511-acre Office of Hawaiian Affairs property in Wahiawa will be moved out next week.
OHA said crews will enforce trespassing and illegal camping laws to move those living in the area.
Last week, 17 homeless campsites were found on the property, OHA said. Officials said about half of them appeared to be abandoned.
OHA also said homeless in the area have gotten notice about the planned enforcement action on June 15, and that service providers are working with them.
In a news release, OHA said that in addition to moving the homeless, crews will clear waste and brush from the area. Security will also be put in place to ensure homeless people don't return.
