LIHUE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Police departments across the state can now force officers to use body cams after the State Labor Relations Board ruled in favor of the Kauai Police Department.

The police union, SHOPO argued Kauai's chief needed union approval first, but the labor board ruled against the union.

The decision could make it easier for all of the state's police departments to implement body cams.

Every department except Honolulu's is already in the testing phase.
