No tsunami threat following 6.5-magnitude quake off coast of Indonesia

INDONESIA (HawaiiNewsNow) - A large earthquake shook part of Indonesia early Thursday, but there was no tsunami threat generated, officials said.

The 6.5-magnitude quake happened around 12:55 a.m. Hawaii time. It was located about 55 miles west of Sungaipenuh in west Indonesia.

Tremors were also reported in neighboring Singapore.
