LIHUE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Kauai man has been sentenced for sexually assaulting a teenage family member.
In March 2016, Larry Cass Ragasa of Hanepepe was convicted of two counts of first degree sexual assault and one count of fourth degree sexual assault.
A judge sentenced the 45-year-old on Wednesday to 20 years in prison.
In a news release, prosecuting attorney Justin Kollar said, "This sentence should send a message that our office will do everything we can to protect the victims and survivors of child sexual assault in our community. These crimes strike at the very fabric of our community and cannot be ignored."
