HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A slow moving cold front is passing through the state. Scattered showers are moving east with light to moderate rainfall totals, favoring windward neighborhoods. Drier conditions are moving in behind the front. The brunt of the rain will be over Maui and the Big Island later tonight and tomorrow.

This area of high pressure will continue to push moisture associated with the weak front over the islands during the next couple of days. We are expecting for these moderate trade winds to continue until Friday, but then Friday evening into Saturday we will transition to a light and variable wind pattern. Lighter winds will arrive during the weekend and it will feel quite muggy again.

Surf is small island wide, but a small south boost is due Wednesday afternoon, a northwest pulse is due Friday.
