Work furlough program inmate Lloyd Schmitt failed to return to the Laumaka Work Furlough Center after work Friday night.
Schmitt, 38, left Friday morning and was supposed to return by 7:30 p.m.
State Sheriffs and Honolulu Police were notified.
Schmitt was serving time for theft 2, unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and promoting a dangerous drug.
Escape 2 is expected to be added to his charges.
Schmitt is described as 5’7” and weighs 260 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes.
